Are fat and cellulite the same thing?
What is fat?
Fat is a normal constitute of the human body. It serves as an important function for storing energy. It also acts as a storage place for excess toxins found in the body. An overabundance of body fat results in obesity.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a condition in which the skin has a dimpled, lumpy appearance. It occurs when fat deposits push through the connective tissue beneath the skin. It is also known as "orange peel skin" due to its texture.
When searching for the best body treatment for you, you must first determine which problem you are looking to address. Fat? Cellulite? Or is it both?
Most technologies available in the medical-cosmetic field today are proficient in smoothing cellulite and shrinking fat cells but very few can effectively eliminate the fat cells completely.
Modalities such as ultra-sound and needle-less mesotherapy have the ability to shrink and drain the cat cells but will NOT get rid of them. Radiofrequency will tighten the surrounding skin, pressing the fat tighter to the body, resulting in a more uniform look. Photo-neumatic massage breaks up the hardened striations causing the lumpy appearance of cellulite, in turn providing a much smoother overall appearance.
Despite common belief, there are very few medical-cosmetic treatments that actually destroy the fat cells.
The Sculpsure technology has proven efficient in the destruction of 18-24% of fat cells in the localized area per treatment. Sculpsure uses a diode laser to selectively target ONLY the fat cells and heat them to the point of destruction. The exterminated fat cells are then excreted out through the body's lymphatic system.
Besides liposuction, Sculpsure is one of the very few technologies proven effective to permanently eliminate fat cells.
